Amelia Jackson M.S., SLP-CCC

Hi! I’m Amelia! I am a licensed speech-language pathologist and a native Utahn! I became interested in speech therapy from an early age when my twin sister was diagnosed with a significant speech delay. I grew up seeing how the speech therapist had helped her and by the time I was an adult, knew I wanted to make a difference in other people’s lives the same way my sister’s therapist had. Since earning my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Brigham Young University, and my license as an SLP, I have worked in schools, hospitals, and skilled rehab centers with patient’s ranging from six months to 97 years old!
I have experience working with spinal injuries, strokes, traumatic brain injuries, diseases like Guillam-Barre, ALS and Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Congenital/Chromosomal Disorders and developmental delay. I also have experience working with patients who have tracheostomies and ventilators. I have treated patients for swallowing/feeding difficulties, cognitive changes following neurological injury, voice disorders, speech and language delays, and use of alternative/augmentative communication (ACC) including use of eye gaze equipped speech generating devices.
I am passionate about helping people find hope, healing and connection in the midst of challenging circumstances. From seeing a nonverbal child communicate and connect with the world around them to helping a stroke survivor enjoy their favorite food again, being in the role of supporter in individual’s and family’s journeys brings me true happiness.
When I’m not treating patients, I enjoy being outside, paddle boarding and road biking, and browsing Pinterest for gluten-free recipes. 🙂
